9K 4 K9 is a sponsored dog walk with a difference

The fundraisers have more than 2 legs!

9k 4 k9 - 1st April 2024

9k4k9

9K 4 K9 - from pugs to Great Danes, from Crufts hopefuls and family champions to lovable mutts, or even if you do not have a dog, this is Saffron Walden 41 Club’s first charity dog walk and we are taking the lead to raise vital funds for ‘Guide Dogs for the Blind’.

We aiming to raise an incredible £10,000 and we need YOUR help!

9K4K9 isn’t just about raising funds for this great charity, its also a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the lovely scenery and walks around Saffron Walden, learn some (hopefully interesting) facts, whilst getting health benefits for you and the paws in your family.

There are two walks available on the day –  one being 9km and the other 4.5km.

They both start from Saffron Walden Cricket Club where there will be fun for all the family, whether you have two legs or four!

So come, put your best paw forward and join us for a great day out with an even greater cause!

Safety & Accessibility

Everyone’s safety should be the top priority when taking part in the 9K4K9 sponsored dog walk. You know your dog best and we encourage you to think about the distance you walk at one time and whether it is appropriate for your dog, especially if they are still a puppy. If you have any concerns about your furry friend, please consult a vet. There will be a water station half way round for owners as well as our dogs.

We welcome every visitor equally regardless of their physical, sensory or mental capacity. We are however, honest about our rural location and the limitation that this can impose. We aim to provide a quality service within these limitations and continually strive to improve so that as many people as possible can enjoy our one day event. This access statement does not contain personal opinions as to our suitability for those with disabilities, but aims to accurately describe the facilities and services that we offer all our visitors.

Other information:

  • The main paths are through the park and local area, some on road paths otherwise mud/grass surfaces and some are approximately a single lane walk width.
  • Between ‘roadways’ the area is grassed which can be uneven underfoot
  • Litter bins sited throughout the walk routes.
  • Dogs should be kept on a lead at all times
  • Dog water bowl station out on the walk route and around the Cricket Club.
  • Stewards, will be around to offer assistance etc.
